Getting a pet after MC or whilst TTC

Hiya,

We recently suffered a MMC, and are now one year after we started to TTC. We had a rescue dog that we lost about 18 months ago to cancer and always thought we would re-home again, well now with all that's gone on it made me realise coming home from hospital having a dog happy to see me would've really lifted me. Did anyone get a pet whilst TTC or after a MC?

Just as a footnote, my career is in animal behaviour and welfare and I have studied it to MSc level so this is not a 'whim' and I know there is a lot to consider when rehoming, all of that is fine with finances, knowledge, experience, work life etc. Just really looking for stories where a new pet helped ease the pain of TTC and pregnancy loss, or if people think the worst time to re-home is when TTC.

Hi there did you get a pet in the end? I miscarried recently and have a cavapoo he has been my rock and a huge pain relief mentally in trying to get through this where would we be without them 🐶

We recently got a puppy after a difficult year and a half of TTC and miscarriages. She has also lifted our spirits so much, she's so lovely and sweet, and can't imagine what we would do without her too! I would go for it.
