Confused! Expecting period after a miscarriage

I had an early miscarriage in December - baby stopped growing at 6 weeks and I miscarried at 8/9weeks. Confirmed by scan and negative test that all had passed and nothing further was needed.

Now I’m wondering what to expect for my first period and how it differed for those who have been through this?

IF my cycle has gone back to normal, I should be expecting to start at the end of this week/ start of next.

I’ve been feeling really sick and my boobs have been horrendously sore (mostly the nipples). About a week and a half/ two weeks ago I did have some jelly like blob-ish discharge that felt really thick which I never usually have. I’ve never had any of this before a period before so is it possible things have just changed for me symptoms wise? Did anyone else have changes for a lead up to a period?

I’ve just taken a pregnancy test (albeit a cheap one) and it’s come up negative but could it be that it would be too early to show up even if I had managed to conceive this early after? Which I would doubt? (Even though me and the partner have been having sex)

I’m just so confused and would really appreciate some insight for how it’s been for others!

I found after both of my MMC's / D&C's that my period returned within 6 weeks and was heavier and more painful, and lasted a little longer - I'm usually a 4 day max girl, but these lasted 6-7 days.

Not horrendous though - manageable with paracetamol on days one and 2.

Mine were the opposite and are now lighter and shorter with so pms symptoms.
It is possible you are pregnant again though. I had a second mmc in Nov, stopped developing at 6 weeks and passed naturally at 9.5 weeks in the 3rd week of Nov. About 3 weeks later I ovulated and tested positive on NYE. Unfortunately I think this will be another mmc as a couple of days ago around the 6 week mark all of my symptoms dissappeared and I am getting lighter and lighter pregnancy tests.

It also took me 3 years to conceive for the first time so it's very odd that my body seems to get pregnant so fast now. Just can't ever get passed that 6 week mark.

It took 8 weeks after miscarriage for my period to return and I had every pms symptom before then which I don’t usually have. It messes with your cycle.
