Positive Test 3 Weeks After Miscarriage.. Had Negative At 2 weeks!!! Help.

Hi guys. Just asking if anyones had anything similar - bad or good endings.

We miscarried at 12 weeks 3 weeks ago - i had surgery and my bleeding stopped the next day (20th of December)

Me and my partner have been sexually active since the 27th (soon for some i know but going on to try again is the only thing seeming to get us through this)

I had a negative test 14 days after the miscarriage - Fast forward to last night and today i’ve had very faint positives, two at home and one at the doctors (i did one because i had what felt like implantation pain) - i have NO idea whats going on but the GP doctor has referred me back to EPAU.

They said one of two things, the negative was false and my HCGs are still coming down OR a very very very early new pregnancy.

I have a scan on friday to confirm whether there was anything left from the surgery still causing a positive (which is unlikely) and a blood test to see my HCGs.

Has anyone experienced this before? Surely its way way too soon to know if i’m pregnant again? And surely they would know if they left something behind and i would have had other symptoms like infection etc if this was the case? So a possible false negative and HCGs coming down i reckon?

Beyond confused and this glimmer of hope of a new pregnancy or the horror of something still being there from the miscarriage is going to feel like i’ve lost the baby twice if its a bad outcome.

I wish waited for my first cycle but i am so desperate for a baby and i can’t think of anything else.

Please no judgement just similar stories if any?

Didn't want to read and run. I'd a MC last summer and two weeks afterwards I conceived again (I know this as can pinpoint exactly when I was active with DH). Currently 35 weeks pregnant. So I had no period in between. In my case I took some FRERS over a few days to see if line strength increased, which it did. That, to me, was indication that the initial positive test wasn't a false positive leftover from my MC.

Are you still testing positive?

Am in a similar situation - our dates are very similar although I miscarried at 7 weeks. Am now 6 weeks, had a scan but no heartbeat yet. Feeling very anxious as no period between and worried will lose another baby (this is my 4th pregnancy and I have one child).

When people say they were pregnant 3 weeks after miscarriage, is that 3 weeks after the first day of bleeding? Xx

I’m exactly the same as you, 4th pregnancy 1 child. It’s so worrying isn’t it. I’m about a week from when my period “should be” going off the first day of my first day of bleeding. I’m praying I’m pregnant soon.

Can I just ask how you got on with this!? I had an ERPC for a missed miscarriage on the 16th March, tested negative on the 3rd April (I’m 99% sure) so started LH testing, they started off negative but in the last couple of days have increased. They’ve stayed high for a couple of days so out of curiosity I done a pregnancy test and it’s ever so slightly positive?!

we have had sex 3 times in this time frame, twice in the week after the second week which I suppose I could have ovulated technically?

if they say you can ovulate 2 weeks post MC is that from once the HCG is completely negative? In which case that’s impossible as 2 weeks post negative test isn’t until the 17th April - or is it possible 2 weeks post the start date of the miscarriage in which case is around 30th March?

So confused if I could ovulate with HCG in my system or not. I’m going to just keep checking to see if there’s any line progression at all if it stays the same I’ll speak to the doctor to see if I’ve retained any products

Hi guys - so this was unfortunately a new pregnancy that ended in a chemical a couple weeks later.
i am pregannt again - got my BFP on sunday 1-2 weeks on clear blue.
slightly concerned im having another chemical as the clear blues at 15dpo are still saying 1-2 weeks. Only time will tell i guess.

I have a similar query. I had a missed miscarriage 17 Dec. Stopped growing at 7 weeks and didn't pass until 11 weeks. My levels around the time just before passing the miscarriage were roughly 14000, then a week after mc, they were 300, and a week after that they were 30. So the doc felt pretty confident the mc was resolving and that I'd be back to below 5 in the following week. Well it's been a week and a half since the last draw for hcg... and I've been feeling a bit off and my bbt and opk and cm lined up to say I'm 8dpo. Just got a positive pg test at 8dpo. But now I'm doubting it and thinking it could still be hcg from the mc. Is it possible that my hcg stopped declining correctly and I never returned to non pg levels??? this is so confusing. Don't want to get my knickers in a knot over nothing. I miscarried about 3.5 weeks ago but I figured that if the hcg was declining as they expected it to (roughly halving every couple of days) then I shouldn't be showing up pg on a test...
