How long after D&C before another embryo transfer

Our first embryo transfer (PGS tested day 5 embryo) was done mid-November; no heartbeat at 7 week ultrasound and unfortunately the 9 week scan showed no viable pregnancy; plan is for D&C later this week... wondering how long we have to wait until going for a second embryo transfer? Has anyone else had experience of an unsuccessful transfer with a PGS tested embryo? Devastated to be going through this...

Hi,

i’m in a very similar boat to you. I’m so sorry.

I have 6 PGS tested embryos ready and waiting. I took some time out to enjoy Christmas and find myself miraculously pregnant, spontaneously.

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like it’s meant to be as there’s no heartbeat. My plan is to have the vacuum aspiration asap, then apparently you bleed 4-6 weeks later and everything I’ve read online says you can crack on with that bleed - providing there’s been no complications.

Hi all,

just came across this and was wondering what happened for you both? @HopefulMama2B we have done numerous rounds of ivf and our first transfer was pgt tested and did not implant. We were so disappointed and shocked. We’ve since been through a lot and it still stands out as a particularly devastating loss as you think when it’s been tested it will all be ok, I really hope things have worked out for you since.

Further to that we had another unsuccessful transfer, that one was not tested but it was found around that time I am borderline for sticky blood so it was decided that I should be put on blood thinners and also steroids moving forward. We then had an unsuccessful FET on this new protocol - a good embryo but not tested - but recently, finally, our BFP! Best few weeks of our lives of course and it did establish a heartbeat but was behind in terms of size and it was confirmed at repeat scan on 8+3 that it had stopped developing and there was no longer a heartbeat.

I am due to have a D&C under general anaesthesic tomorrow. Sort of terrified but the idea of going in and getting it all sorted really appeals. However I’m worried about risk of ashermans or not being able to do a transfer for many months while lining recovers. Would therefore love to hear others experiences. Thank you xx
