Is it possible? In short had a TFMR 4 weeks ago, followed 2 weeks later by MVA under local for retained tissue, only to discover there's still some left. I'm booked in on Tuesday for ERPC but have come down with a terrible cough and cold, my understanding is they won't sedate if airways are inflamed? Anyone know what my options are or if I'm likely to face a cancellation?
Thanks !

Hi there. I’m so sorry for your loss. I underwent and MVA in November and the anaesthetist recommended a propofol sedation instead of general anaesthetic. This was infused via IV and I only woke once they stopped infusing it. So no need for anything involving airways. I’m not sure how your hospital will feel about operating given that you are currently exhibiting cold symptoms. But if you do go ahead, it’s work asking the anaesthetist about a deep sedation like propofol. I woke up feeling like I’d had a brilliant nap. And it didn’t take me long to be awake and alert. Compared to the grogginess related with general anesthesia. Hope that helps and I hope it all goes well for you.
