Nothing happening for 2 weeks/ miscarriage

I had a missed miscarriage in October. Stopped developing at 6 weeks, I had bleeding at 10 weeks then a d&c.

I got pregnant then after 1 cycle. So I found out super early around 3 weeks pregnant. I went for a scan at 5w5d but they saw only the sac and I came back 10 days later so just over 7 weeks.

They only saw the gestational sac, no yolk or Fetal pole. But sac measuring 21.5mm which had grown since the 1st scan.

But they've not confirmed miscarriage, they've asked me to come back in 2 weeks.
2 weeks carrying around what's most likely a non viable pregnancy.

Has anyone experienced similar?

Hello,

I went through the exact same thing 3 days ago. I started experiencing bleeding which got more red and clotty over a week and then heavy cramps, they did a scan and told me that the baby stopped developing and to come a week later to confirm however the next night my bleeding got so heavy and cramping to the point I couldn't walk/talk/open my eyes, went to the epu again and they looked inside with a speculum and removed the pregnancy. I've been home since and still experiencing cramps and bleeding but getting better.

Most likely it's a miscarriage, I am sorry for your loss. If you experience any heavy bleeding with clots and cramping, go straight to a&e as my pregnancy tissue and foetus was stuck in my cervix neck trying to come out which could be dangerous which is why it had to be removed ASAP. If it is a miscarriage you'll experience some bleeding and cramping if you haven't already just keep an eye on it. Don't delay gong to a&e. I was passing clots I had to physically push like giving birth and they got as big as my hand, don't tolerate pain you don't need to.

Hope this helps

Thank you. So sorry you had to go through that it's horrific.

I just don't see why I have to wait 2 weeks for them to tell me its a miscarriage, I'd rather have the medical intervention ASAP instead of the risk that a miscarriage starts and I have to do it alone at home:(

Yeah it's pretty traumatic, right now I can't even think about getting pregnant again or anything, I'm still experiencing heavy cramping, bleeding and clots, it takes a physical and mental toll on you the process isn't easy

And I think its to confirm that it really is a miscarriage sometimes the foetus can develop if the measurements change.
But like I said bleeding and cramps go straight to a&e.

Hope everything works out!

Happened to me and I’m currently miscarrying I’m just bleeding at the moment no pregnancy has passed but it’s very painful I just want it over so sorry your in the same position as me it’s horrible.

If it gets too painful please go to a&e, it's very common that the pregnancy gets stuck in the neck of the womb. Don't tolerate pain you don't need to , go to the hospital and they will see you within 10 minutes

It's to cover themselves unfortunately. It seems like they don't think women know their ovulation dates correctly (despite a lot of us temping or taking OPKs etc) so they want to wait two weeks in case we're wrong and actually much earlier than we thought 🙄

And yes, some people do mess their dates up but, for those of us who do know, we should be trusted and given miscarriage management earlier.

A similar thing happened to me in April with my first miscarriage. It really damaged my mental health being forced to carry around a pregnancy that I knew was not viable for two weeks.

Hi OP I was wondering how yours progressed? I am in the same situation. Appreciate any update, I have a follow up scan Friday and stressing

Timetomove22 · 22/03/2023 14:43

Hi @M301990
Sadly the scan was empty and I went on to have a d&c. Just thinking about whether we will try again.
Sorry if that's not what you were hoping to hear, however I was certain my dates were correct and having had a previous miscarriage i think my body wasn't ready to be pregnant again so soon after.
I do hope yours ends more positively than mine does. Sending lots of love
