Very out of my comfort zone to write on here but need somewhere to go. I recently found out I was pregnant on 24th December, myself and partner very happy, lots of symptoms, sore breasts and nausea. This all stopped yesterday (30/12), started heavily bleeding today and low abdominal cramps, all other symptoms have also gone. No services open today as bank holiday weekend, so urgent care centre have passed on my details to Early Pregnancy Clinic who will be in touch. I have done a home pregnancy test and very very faint positive, originally very obvious like. Accepted that I am having an early miscarriage. I’m not sure what to expect, just wondering if anyone has been through anything similar? Thanks

This happened to me a few weeks ago, I was 5 and a half weeks, and similarly I found out on the Thursday, started spotting on the Friday and properly started bleeding on the Sunday. It was painful for 2 days, it was like a very heavy period then more like a 'normal' period for another week. When I spoke to the EPU they said they don't scan before 6 weeks and don't get woman in unless in severe pain or filling a pad an hour. (I'm not sure if that's the same nationwide or just this area) Neither of those applied so I didn't see anyone medical, I did another test a few days after the bleeding stopped and it was negative. It was horrible and sad but it physically felt like a heavy, painful period, and I went to work etc, after the first day when I called in sick.
I've had breast pain and period like pain this week and have seen my GP, he said it's probably the hormone surges and drops and has prescribed naproxen which has helped loads.

Thank you so much for sharing, I'm sorry you also had to go through this. It's a really awful time isn't it, not quite able to be seen etc, but having such strong physical feelings.

I've had very heavy bleeding since yesterday morning and the cramps are coming and going, have been using a hot water bottle which has helped. Hopefully I'll start to feel a bit better soon.

I'd like to speak to the EPU as I'd like to try again so hopefully they get in touch once they reopen. Thanks again xx
