HCG level 607 - 4 weeks after D&C?

Hi all…

I had my third missed miscarriage diagnosed in November, a days later I had D&C. This was the 14th Nov.

I had really bad cramps post op, that were so bad I called the doctor this time round, and was given antibiotics for a week. Since then it’s been a bit crampy but not too bad.

I kept having achy bones like I was fighting an infection, so on Wednesday I took a pregnancy test as I was wondering if something had been left behind - the test was a strong positive.

Had bloods taken yesterday as early pregnancy unit and last night they called to say my level is 606? Is this highly unusual???

They kept asking if it could be a new pregnancy but my husband and I have only slept together once since then, which was a week ago, and tmi I know but he didn’t finish inside (pull out method!)

I can’t get a scan to check for retainer tissue until Monday which is another 3 days away.

Has anyone had this before??? Is 600+ a high level to have 4 weeks post D+C and 6 weeks since baby heart beat stopped.

I found out there was no heartbeat at 10+4, baby measured 8+4

Hi, Im really sorry you're going through this. On top of the miscarriage, this kind of uncertainty is hard to cope with. The level seems high alright but obviously I'm not expert. Have the offered for you to back after 48 hours to see if the levels are going up or down. I'd imagine this would give a lot more clarity on your situation. Sorry again and I hope you get some answers soon. X

@HappyH91 sorry your going through this it's very frustrating when the level just doesn't seem to drop quickly. They should have given you another blood test 48hrs after to see what the level is doing as one test doesn't really tell you anything. If it helps my level dropped by 6 over the span of 3 blood tests so 6 days it was heartbreaking that it's dropping so slowly.
