Am I having a miscarriage? (Images attached!)

Hoping somebody has experienced something similar and can share the outcomes. 2 weeks ago I found out I was pregnant (major shock) pretty much immediately I decided I could not keep the baby, I have a small baby and financially and emotionally I am not in a position to have another right now :( two days after my positive test I started bleeding lightly, only showing on tissue after the loo, light pinky/red then brown and then for the next 10/11 days it was constant - never enough for a pad but everything I wiped. Before I knew I was pregnant I was having really bad cramps and thought it was a bad upcoming period … it had sort of stopped now. I phoned EPU but they said I was too early to scan and to wait a week and test again, I tested today and it’s still positive. I do not feel pregnant. I have attached pictures for reference if anyone has experienced similar? I hate to say it but if it was a miscarriage it would be a lot easier to deal with mentally over a termination. I know a lot of woman struggle to get pregnant and will struggle with this post but please please do not judge my situation- TIA x

This has happened to me twice, once i miscarried and once i didn't. Bit of a waiting game, i hope you get the outcome that you want x

I had a miscarriage recently and I was the same, I wasn't enough to full a pad but it showed no signs of stopping and I also had cramps also. I got an appointment at my triage and seen a doctor who examined me as I was also still testing positive for pregnancy. The doctor confirmed a miscarriage.

@Idbemonica1 Idbemonica1 Thank you for replying - the waiting game is a killer - normal life has been at a stand still for a couple of weeks, it’s so difficult.

@Kellsbellz thank you for replying. Did a full on bleed never come? Everyday i have been expecting heavy bleeding but it doesn’t happen.

It could honestly go either way Flowers

A scan will be able to tell you more, hope it's positive news x

parsniiips · 12/12/2022 19:49

Positive as in, the outcome is what makes you most comfortable Flowers

Dramaalpacas · 12/12/2022 19:52

Looks like the kind of pinky brown bleeding I had with my pregnancy. Some days it was dark, some it was light. The baby was fine.

Kellsbellz · 12/12/2022 19:55

Not as much as I was anticipating, no. But I have also been bleeding now for 4month after my miscarriage . I did experience alot of clotts. You should defo phone up your triage and ask for an examination or a blood test and hopefully they will get you in.

tallgirl232 · 13/12/2022 14:56

I'm currently experiencing the same thing. Found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago and similar bleeding to OP for the past 5 days .
It's gradually progressing from the first to last.
Did have a scan with EPU yesterday though at 5w5d and they confirmed a sac and yolk. Took early to see a foetus. But the last photo happened today now I'm afraid. Do update on how it goes for you and good luck!!!

If you have other gynecology issues it could be due to that . I have fibroids so hoping that's what causing the bleeding and not a miscarriage.

tallgirl232 · 13/12/2022 15:04

@marmaria198818a just realised in your OP you mentioned a miscarriage might be preferred.
Good luck no matter the outcome and whatever is best for you❤

@tallgirl232 it’s such a worrying time! Had you had any pain? Last week my back pain was so severe I couldn’t even stand up straight along with period pains. EPU wouldn’t see me last week as it was too early and told me to leave it a week, I now have an apt early Thursday morning so hopefully I will get answers and sorted either way. I’ve had a baby before and I know every pregnancy is different but I don’t feel pregnant at all. My spotting and discharge has pretty much stopped (after 12 days) but period type cramps have restarted today. Thank you so much and good luck to you too xx

I had severe pain on Saturday . The only reason I think the EPU saw me so quickly is because my pain was concentrated on left side and was affecting my neck and shoulder. Think they were concerned about an ectopic but turns out it was firboid causing the pain which is also on my left x
Pain has stopped since yesterday just bleeding. Oh okay, 12 days is a while.
Same for me - it's period type cramps - it's the feeling you get when you're on your period!

maria198818a · 13/12/2022 17:53

@tallgirl232 i had severe pain before I knew I was pregnant and thought I was just in for a horrendous period. It’s been my back that is giving me the most bother and yes like you say a sort of period cramp. Are you going to phone again after losing that on the toilet today? Hopefully we both have definite answers soon xx

I had the same after I miscarried, although it was bright red in the first few days/week. I did have a scan and I had another 2 weeks later where there were no longer any signs of pregnancy and I was told to re-test again in 2 weeks I think? Because it could still show as positive for a few weeks.

Hope you get the outcome you wanted and hope you’re ok x

mar198818 · 13/12/2022 19:36

@Gem123J thank you for replying. Was your red blood heavy? I have been expecting full on period blood to come but it’s just been on the toilet roll and like I said for 11/12 days … I know it’s not long until I find out on Thursday morning but it literally consumes your thoughts all day every day

tallgirl232 · 14/12/2022 23:07

@mamar198818 got a call today from EPU and said not much they can do as I only saw them on Monday and they saw the sac and yolk. Theyll have to wait a bit longer. Said I should call back on Monday with an update whether it gets worse or not.
If they won't offer me another scan next week, I'll probably book a private one.

Best of luck with the scan tomorrow and hope you get the outcome you expect ! Keep us updated xxx

@mamaria198818a okay mentioned the wrong person, My previous post was meant for you! X

@tallgirl232 i had my apt this morning - I explained about my blood loss and loss of symptoms etc the doctor scanned me and said there were signs of a pregnancy there but it was a ‘vulnerable pregnancy’ and that it was the start of a miscarriage basically so either way whatever I decided today the outcome would inevitably be the same. There was a lot of tears and different emotions because i thought the baby was already completely gone. I started medical management with her and will take the rest of the pills at home tomorrow morning. I am absolutely terrified but I’m hoping it all passes quickly and safely. It wasn’t how I was hoping it would go but better that the decision was taken away from me in a way too. I feel like an awful human being and I’m so angry at myself that I’m in this situation and feel horribly selfish but it’s a lesson learned and I can only grow from this.

i hope you have a positive outcome and wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy ❤️ xxx

@maria198818a

sorry only just come back on this thread so missed your question until now.

The blood I had wasn’t very heavy, but it was constant. When I went for a wee and sat on the toilet for a bit I would pass clots, so I suppose with pushing (like pushing for a wee or a poo), it encouraged the clots to come out I guess.

Just read your posts after your question, how are things now? I hope you’re resting, but like I was told by the OB, don’t blame yourself if something happens, sometimes it’s out of our control. But I’m crossing everything that your pregnancy is still going strong. Do you have a follow up appointment with them?

Gem123J · 17/12/2022 02:52

@maria198818a

and apologies, I scanned so didn’t read the outcome. So sorry to hear. Hope you’re doing ok and resting and taking a mental break off of everything else. Look after yourself xx

I'm sorry it wasn't a good experience for you. Yes - hope you grow from this and the medical management helps it go as smoothly as possible ❤️
And thank you ❤️
