HCG levels - possible second miss carriage

Hey
Hope someone can help me and put my mind at rest slightly. I’m currently 8 weeks 6 days pregnant. I started with very slight bleeding 3 days ago and it’s stayed the same. Redish blood when I wipe and the odd very small dark brown clot. I went to the early pregnancy unit and had by bloods taken.
HCG level came back at 10,000 and I’ve been booked in for a scan on Friday.
I had a miss carriage on NYE’s eve, last time is was horrific, I’m just so petrified that this is the start of another one.
does anyone understand HCG levels! Is this low? Would I be bleeding more if it was a miss carriage. Any help/ advice / similar situations would be great.

thank you

It depends what your HCG was before and whether it is rising or falling. Mine went up to 15000 at 6-7 weeks (day after first scan), then started to drop, but I only knew this as I re-tested hCG again the day after an unsuccessful scan. I wanted to know at that point how much it still had to fall to reset my cycle. With a MMC I didn't have any bleeding. I think you have a threatened miscarriage with bleeding, until you know what is going on with the scan. I hope things go ok for you!
