I'm so sorry for the photo, does this look like a miscarriage? Didn't suspect I was pregnant, recently restarted the pill but been spotting the last few days and heavier bleeding today and passed this. Not in much pain, just normal period type cramps although did have pains in my lower left abdomen a couple of days ago that were a bit more unusual/severe.

Never had anything like this happen before, not even postpartum.

Could it be a decidual cast?
My spelling may not be correct.

Also think it’s one of those decidual cast things. Ime miscarriage has lots of blood

I hadn't heard of this before, but looks likely from a quick Google search. Thank you!
That has settled my panic until I can grab a first response tomorrow to check my hormone levels.

I've had a miscarriage (bleeding for days and days) and I've had some very heavy periods with massive clots. This definitely looks like the latter.

Thanks, I've had awful periods and passed big clots before. This was definitely more flesh like than clot though, totally threw me. Very little reason to suspect I was pregnant but couldn't think of another explanation until the decidual cast posts above, thankfully it seems likely to be that.

Since this is inherently a TMI thread, a couple of months ago during my period I felt a... thing literally fall out of me when I stood up after having a wee. It looked a lot like your picture and felt 'fleshy'. Don't know what it was, but I'm sure I wasn't pregnant.

MarmiteCoriander · 29/10/2022 23:01

Looks like blood clot and not sac or pregnancy tissue IMO.

A way to check- is to soak the 'clot' in saline or salty water. A clot will eventually dissolve into the water, whereas pregnancy tissue will not.

If worried- take an early pregnancy test to be sure- because if you were pregnant- you'd expect to still see this on a test. Best of luck.
