What happens now what should I do?

My miscarriage was at 5 weeks on 1st October.

Hcg blood tests revealed my hcg rapidly went down and was advised by early pregnancy unit when the bleeding stopped take a pregnancy test (the bleeding stopped after a few days after the 1st October). However the pregnancy test would still show positive untill 11th October by the 13th October pregnancy test was negative so from the 13th October I have had intercourse to hopefully conceive again I used the clear blue ovulation kit on the 13th /14th October as I felt my breasts getting tender like how what happens in midcyle and my clear blue ovulation said i was high fertility and then 2 days after peak fertility a few days after it showed I was high fertility again so how can that be? I posed the question to clearblue and they said they don’t recommend anyone to use the tests for 9 weeks after miscarriage as unreliable I was confused as I was told by early pregnancy unit sometimes you can ovulate as little as in 2 weeks after miscarriage . What do I do now did I ovulate ? And if I’m pregnant is it accurate even in a pregnancy test because of being in this ‘9 week bracket of a miscarriage’
I’m not even a full month from my miscarriage . I’m confused about what clearblue has said x

I think they say that because after MC opks are not very reliable because of the similarities between lh and hcg markers and it can take a while to get a negative pregnancy test though obviously you have had one of those. Also your body is still settling and readjusting. It is possible to ovulate soon after a MC so you could def be in with a chance. I havent bothered doing opks after my most recent MC as after my first they were peak for ages and I know I never ovulated as I track with bbt. We're just DTD every 2/3 days until next cycle starts in the hope we might catch something.

@mummatara thanks for telling me your experience. So because I had a negative pregnancy test after 13 days and my HcG was very low , does that mean my ovulation tests after my miscarriage could be more accurate than if I had retained HCG and was still showing up as a positive pregnancy test? I felt like was ovulating 2 weeks after miscarriage as I got the signs of sore breasts , abit of period like pain which happens mid cycle for me usually x

@SarahHewitt yes I would say as you had a negative pt then in all likelihood the opks are probably accurate. I have chatted to others who have had a couple of surges after MC maybe the first surge failed and your body tried again straight after which is why the opk went to high again 🤔 I think if you feel like you usually do at O then I would assume if it was me that ovulation happened x

@mummatara thank you for replying. I was ‘intimate’ on 13th , 14th, 16th and 23rd October. We wasn’t intimate prior 13th as I was having a miscarriage and was bleeding etc from the 1st. My cycle is usually regular between 28-32 days (average 29/30 days) I took an early pregnancy test today and that was negative but with the miscarriage and me being intimate only on the 4 dates above when would anyone suggest I would take a pregnancy test to be 100 percent sure I’m not pregnant? My breasts are so sore and have been for 2 weeks I don’t think my body knows what’s going on :(

if you or anyone else can advise would be really appreciated x

I would say safest bet to test is 2 weeks + 5 days from the last date 23 Oct. So Fri 11 should give you a decent answer.

Although I'm POAS mad so I wouldn't be waiting that long, at my expense.

SarahHewitt · 28/10/2022 15:38

@startfresh thank you for replying. If my ovulation was around the 16th… would I still be able to have become pregnant from the 23rd October can conception occur after that time? If period doesn’t come on I’ll test on 11th - that’s going to be a long wait isn’t it 😩
