I lost my baby girl at 22 weeks pregnant due to a rare brain abnormality. This was 12 weeks ago.

we had genetic testing done to find out if this would be reoccurring in future pregnancies but haven’t had any results back yet.

how long did people have to wait for their results ?

its heartbreaking waiting to find out 🙁

I think it can depend on the tests not the same but myself and my son had genetic testing when he was 2 months old. This was a genotype one the urgent two took a month and rest of results took four months to come back.

Hopefully it will not be too much longer for you but some can take up to 6 months to come back. Sorry for your loss

I think I waited about 6-8 weeks? The first time they were supposed to do genetic testing (my third loss) they just came back and confirmed products of conception (much earlier than 22 weeks) despite karyotyping having been requested, but the next two times they confirmed a baby girl with a trisomy then a baby boy with no genetic abnormalities. Never did find out why I can’t carry a pregnancy to term, so be aware you don’t always get an answer, and that can be pretty hard to deal with.

I've been told it'll take 2 months approx. to hear back on the karotype testing from my third loss last week x

I lost my baby boy 2 weeks ago, he was born sleeping at 36 weeks with severely enlarged ventricles and a bleed on his brain. He has gone for a post mortem and genetic testing, specifically trying to look for the L1CAM mutation. The consultant had to warn us it could be up to a years wait. Im in a nightmare right now and to think that could be the case just makes me feel even more hopeless. I hope you got your results back quicker than you thought xxx

@OPGsMummy I am so so sorry for your loss, sending you the biggest hugs. The hopeless feeling is horrific. I hope it takes much less time for you to get some answers xx

I'm so sorry for your loss 💐

My tests took 4 months to come back (loss in Oct 2021). 3rd loss only discovered at the dating scan (again). I think the longer the gestation the quicker the test.
Mine came back negative but was told sometimes finding a faulty gene was like finding a single spelling mistake in a large novel. It's not always possible to find - which is heartbreaking

Sending love your way x
