so I had a miscarriage 3 months ago. Now pregnant again around 6 weeks. Last few days had a lower back ache with light pink spotting when I go to the toilet but last night a huge clot fell out bigger than a 50p ( posted a picture ) I’ve had no further bleeding since just loads of nausea. I do have a cervical ectropion which causes bleeding a lot but never big clots before?

I’m not sure and I hope not, although it doesn’t sound good with the back pain you have. Can you get to a or an early pregnancy unit? I would also possibly post a warning because the photo might be a bit too much for some people.

If you’re 6weeks you can go to the EPU for a scan. I’d do that if I were you.

I'm really sorry, this looks very similar to what happened to me last week and yes was a miscarriage. I hope your outcome is more positive x

Went to epu today and sac was still there but to early to see a viable pregnancy they say. Would that clot of been a miscarriage if the sac is still there?

I'm not sure. The scan I had showed the sac had collapsed but I didn't pass the large blood clots until afterwards. I did the 2 week after pregnancy test and I was still testing positive. Tested again a week later and this time it was faint but still positive. Went back in for another scan and it showed retained tissue. Had medical management this time and passed this a couple of days later.

Hi just an update to anyone going through the same thing. Baby is okay and had strong heartbeat. Was a subchronic bleed which apparently can be quite common
