Getting pregnant after miscarriage

Good morning all,

I had a miscarriage two weeks ago, I was 9 weeks. I have had unprotected sex 5 days (logging it), I'm just curious, can you get pregnant quickly after a miscarriage or how do you even work out when you are ovulating?
I feel like maybe we should have used protection until my normal cycle started but too late now. Thanks in advance

You can get pregnant very quickly after a miscarriage. If you're having unprotected sex immediately after a miscarriage but before your next period, it's likely that you will ovulate in between and therefore can get pregnant again. Some women test negative after a miscarriage, their periods don't arrive, and then test positive with a new pregnancy. There's no harm in doing so if you're emotionally ready, some women like to wait for a period but usually that's either because they feel ready again and because it's easier to date the new pregnancy.

I suffered a MMC in mid sept. A week after we had an early scan and saw the heartbeat by 9weeks it was gone. So crushing after 4 years of TTC and a failed round of ivf this was a natural pregnancy. Thought we had our happy ending finally.
no sign of period this month (ie first after the miscarriage) almost two weeks late so tested this morning thinking quite honestly that it will just be late my body is all over the place hormones etc. but to my surprise I got a BFP absolute shock and equal terror now…..

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts…

I had a miscarriage in November, 3 weeks after my miscarriage operation I was told to take a pregnancy test and it was negative.

I’ve recently been experiencing some pregnancy symptoms including sore boobs, back ache, etc. I also had some light bleeding which wasn’t my cycle (potentially implantation).

I had a blood test last week and just got my results, my HCG level is 17. Which has now confused the doctor and I. This could potentially be a new pregnancy or it could still be from my miscarriage.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? I’m hoping it’s a new pregnancy 🤞
