Will a scan only make it worse?

Just found out I'm pregnant for the fifth time.

One successful pregnancy (now a 4 year old)

Three miscarriages.

My PAU have offered me an early scan next week, I'll only be around 5-6 weeks so I'm not confident they'll see anything and worried it will only increase my anxiety around it.

Thoughts?

This was my scan at around 6 weeks so you may be able to see something. I would take the scan option

I've had three miscarriages and no successful pregnancies

I'd wait until 7 weeks personally.

Then you will have a less uncertainty. However If you go early they will ask you to come back.

Wishing you all the best op 💐

I had a scan at 5 weeks and saw nothing so went back the following week and it was all there like magic.

For another pregnancy, they could see everything they needed at 5.5wks.

So ime, 6 weeks is fine but any earlier is risky. If the scan date is nearer 6 wks tha 5wks, I would go for it.

Personally, I would also go again at 8 wks as the risk of mc once you've heard a healthy hb at 8 wks is much lower.

I had a missed miscarriage that wasn't detected until 13 weeks so I'm a scan fan.
