Bleeding after ectopic surgery

Hi,
I had a laparoscopy to remove my ectopic pregnancy from my tube 2 weeks ago. I started bleeding one week after and still i am bleeding/spotting red bright.
Is it normal to bleed after the HCG is down to zero? And is it considered the first period?

Hiya. I am unsure what is normal but came across this thread as I had ectopic surgery almost one week ago and have no bleeding at all since,and wondering why? Maybe it'll take another couple of days. I hope yours settled soon after and that your recovery physically and emotionally is going well. Such a difficult time. X
