Is it worth waiting for d&c

I should be 8 weeks pregnant but I found out last week the sac is empty. I opted for a d&c to get rid of the sac / pregnancy tissue & came in hospital yesterday morning we waited 8am-7pm & unfortunately it never happened due to higher priority cases. I've come back in today at 7am & still no update as to when and if the surgery will take place today.

I'm emotionally exhausted & at this point tempted to just take the tablet option & leave. The main reason I didn't want this is because I have ds2 & dd5 at home & can't bear the thought of having to pass the sac at home & be in a fair amount of pain.

The other option is d&c without general anaesthetic but this scares me to death.

Just wondered what options other have people have taken & what your experiences have been?

I found the D&C worth it because it feels like 'closure' and usually you bounce back a bit faster than the medice (still need a good rest for a few days after). When I had the medicine it took me 1 week to pass everything and though the pain wasn't too bad it was exhausting being constantly uncomfortable and rushing to a bathroom.

Thank you. I did wait it out and luckily I had the d&c, really glad I did as like you say it was so quick & a relief to wake up & just know it's all over with. Just need to focus on my recovery now, emotionally and physically.

Can I ask what you mean by the constant rush to the toilet? Just wonder if I need to prepare myself for something!
