So I know there is understandably not a lot of research into this but I’m having a food for thought moment and wanted to know what other people think
A bit of background at 8 months pregnant in early 2021 I developed covid. 2 days after I started to feel better after being very rough for 2.5 weeks I developed obstetric cholestasis which is linked to stillbirth. I was induced early and had a healthy boy. I asked the doctor if covid could have caused it but she denied the possibility though realistically at the time when there wasn’t even a jab who can say.
Fast forward to 2022 I have had my jabs and booster. I fell pregnant in March and at 5 weeks I caught covid for a second time. My symptoms were not as bad as the first time and I recovered after a week. I lost the baby at 10 weeks which was a MMC we found out at our 12 week scan. I had surgical management in June and got a positive pregnancy test in August. Again I caught covid at 4.5 weeks and again symptoms not too bad. We went for a scan at 9 weeks to discover another MMC this one a blighted ovum.
I know the likelihood of Covid being the trigger for pregnancy problems is probably small but who really knows. I wanted to know others thoughts on it. Will be interesting to see where the research goes with it in the future
