Surgical management of miscarriage

Hi all,

I was lately diagnosed with an angular pregnancy and it's just not growing right and looks like I have miscarried / am about to miscarry (have had no bleeding but very slow/reduced growth).

I have really mixed feelings - sadness, and also some relief as it feels like it has been solid drama so far and the limbo has been horrible.

I have opted for surgical management - could anyone share any non-scary stories please? I am due a general anaesthetic and haven't had one before, am nervous.

@Sapphire387 I had surgical management in June. Was all very straightforward not much bleeding after very light for a couple of days no pain or anything. It took me 5 weeks to get a period and 6 weeks for a negative pregnancy test sorry for your loss hope it all goes ok 💕

@Sapphire387 Firstly I'm sorry you are going through this . I had surgical management for a missed miscarriage a few years back and it was ok I had normal period like bleeding for a few days afterwards and not really any pain just very mild for the first few days . Hope everything goes well for you x

I had it back in March and I was so glad that I did. I'm now pregnant again (nearly 18 weeks). I had acupuncture after the surgery to try and rebalance my hormones a bit which really helped I think.

Thank you @Ally256 - all the best with your pregnancy ❤️

I had this after a MMC and I was relieved that I hadn't opted for medical management. It was straightforward and fast and I recovered quickly afterwards (physically).

The GA was fine but I was very emotional afterwards which is apparently very normal. The only pain I had was in my shoulder and arm for a few days but painkillers took the edge off it and it was bearable.

So sorry and I hope everything goes/went smoothly for you Flowers

@Tittyfilarious81 thank you for asking. I had the surgical procedure on Wednesday, had to stay overnight in hospital as developed an infection but now home with lots of antibiotics. They say it went well and I have very little bleeding and almost no pain. I feel a bit shell-shocked and very sad.
