Hi all. I am hoping someone will be able to help answer my endless Googling. I’ve never been in this situation before.
I am 38 and never been pregnant/tried to conceive. My periods have always been regular to the day but I do have some endometriosis and small fibroids. I experience horrendous painful and heavy, long periods and always have.
My period was a week late this month but I have been really stressed at work so I just put it down to that. By the 6th day I thought I should do a pregnancy test. My husband had been working away so there was literally only one occasion and even then it wasn’t full penetrative sex. However I know it only takes once and some contact. It seemed highly unlikely I would be pregnant.
Much to my surprise the test was a faint positive. I tested again the day after with another positive. Several positives tests later… That evening I started what felt like a normal full period. This continued heavy into the next day. I went to hospital and had another faint positive test. Bleeding slowed after 3 days and the test I have taken today was negative. I still have some light bleeding and stomach soreness and it certainly isn’t what I would normally have as a period.
I am just wondering was I definitely pregnant and miscarried or could this be symptoms of early menopause or similar? I’m just aware I’ve always had period issues and wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a different problem!
Thoughts?!!
