I’ve just been told my miscarriage in incomplete after after having a scan it’s been 13 weeks since miscarriage was confirmed.. during the scan he pushed down so hard on my stomach it caused pain since then I’ve come home and for days now theres not been much blood it’s more like thick brown stringy stuff but only when I wipe I’m due to go on holiday tomorrow doctors can’t do anything until I’m back and gave me antibiotics to take while I’m away, can’t help being so worried about it, has this happened to to anyone else could it be the rest of miscarriage finally coming out it’s my first miscarriage..x

Sorry that you are going through this. They’ve given antibiotics because of the risk of infection. I think you’ll be offered options of medical management - pills to help pass the remainder of your miscarriage - of surgical management. I’ve had both of these several times as had 4 miscarriages and my body would usually hold on to the pregnancy.

I’ve never had as long as you between being confirmed and still retaining tissue though - longest was about 9 weeks when I had the choice of waiting with antibiotics or surgical. I went for surgery because they said there was little chance I’d pass it naturally. So I’m only advising on the basis of my own experience.

i hope it’s over quickly for you and you manage to enjoy your holiday.

Sorry for your loss. Yes the main risk is infection which is why you've been given antibiotics.

Yes the brown blood may be the remains of miscarriage coming out.
