Is my miscarriage complete?

Hi I found out a few days ago at the 9 week mark that I was miscarrying and decided to manage it myself at home (something I don’t think I’d ever do again!) This morning I started heavily bleeding and passing pretty big clots for maybe 4 hours. This was all accompanied by what I can only assume labour pain contractions feel like as I was doubled over in pain the entire time and paracetamol just didn’t work at all. I finally passed a pretty big clot that was almost grey/ purple in colour and felt almost as if a water balloon had popped and with that the pain just started to fade away. I’ve just had light bleeding since then. I was just wondering is that it all done now do you think? I know I probably should have went to see a doctor or midwife today but I’m so physically and emotionally tired I just didn’t want to leave my bed. I’m probably gonna book an appointment for tomorrow was just hoping anyone would have any idea if that’s it more or less finished?

Morning!
I'm so sorry for your loss 💐
I can't answer your question but I wanted you to know that your experience is, word for word, exactly the same as what I had last night and this morning I feel both physically and emotionally like it's over now.
I'd also like to have some kind of scan to check all is done and healthy. I think that's a good idea.
Hope you're doing ok - it's so hard. Take care ❤️‍🩹

Im so sorry for your loss too🤍 It’s been a rough 24 hours so I can only assume it’s been the same for yourself. I’ve managed to book in for a scan but it’s not for another week. Someone messaged me last night though to take a pregnancy test in a few days time to see if it comes up negative to see if it’s finished just thought I’d tell you too in case it’s something you’d like to do. Hope you’re doing okay🤍

Hello I am so sorry you are going through this. In my experience I think yes that sounds like it's complete. They may want to scan you in a week or so to check it's all gone. But yes you can do a pregnancy test in a week to check it's negative. Sending love.
