Hi all,

Found out about missed miscarriage on 22nd April, should have been about 10 weeks but measured 8 with no heartbeat. Had surgical management on 18th May, all went fine. I’m still waiting for my period though, so 8 and a half weeks so far. Is this normal? We’re due to go on holiday in three weeks so I thought maybe wait til that’s done to contact the doctors. Just looking to find out if others have experienced a similar delay? I’m def not pregnant, tested this morning. Thanks :)

Hello,

so sorry you’re going through this too. It’s so hard. I’m in the same position but at 7 weeks.
Did your period come? Xx

Hi I know these are old posts did your period come in the end? Mine is almost 10 weeks since surgical abortion and nothing yet?

Hi yeah it did, I’ve just looked back at my tracker and period came back on 5th August in the end, after the surgery on 18th May. It was weird for a few months though, very light and almost orangey. Would say it felt properly back to normal around February this year.
Hopefully you won’t have too much longer to wait. Sorry you’re going through it 💛

Yes it’s definitely an added stress we didn’t need. I’d say give it another couple of weeks and then maybe give the doctor a call if you’re still worried. Or the EPAU, they told me I could still ring afterwards if I had any concerns. I was on holiday when mine finally started so idk if just chilling out and relaxing helped or if the timing was just coincidence.

Hi lovely,

I am so, so sorry that you’ve had to go through this too 💛 I found the wait for a period as hard as miscarrying personally. It was torture, especially after hearing others got there’s as quickly as 3-6 weeks and not a lot of information about waiting longer than 6 weeks for a period.

I miscarried at 6 weeks but didn’t find out till I should have been 9 weeks and went straight for a D&C. This happened March 13th and I got my period 12 weeks later at the beginning of this month.

Hang in there. Your body knows what it’s doing but go to the doctor in the mean time if you’re finding it too hard and want peace of mind. I did and they referred me for bloods and a scan but my period came while waiting results. Try not to read too much on the internet, it doesn’t help. It definitely didn’t help me.
