Empty sac 8 weeks - progesterone high

Hi all, was wondering if anyone had any advice please.

I had some bleeding / cramping since Sat so went to EPC today. They found empty sac no yolk sac, fetal pole etc. my dates are correct & I should be 8 weeks today, they did a blood test to check progesterone levels. They've rang me back this afternoon to ask me to come in again this Thurs (2days time) to rescan and do another blood test as the progesterone level was 40 which she said is 'high' for this stage & it's still 'inconclusive' until they test / scan again.

Surely nothing would have changed in 2 days? Am I giving myself false hope that something would change in 48hrs? It's my 2nd miscarriage & I'm just as devastated 😔

I’m sorry to hear that OP - it sounds really difficult not knowing. I cannot give any advice but just want to extend out to you as I've been in a similar position before and pregnant atm and anxiety about it is high.

I imagine you've had your follow up now so hopefully you have more peace of mind - how did that go?

Thanks you, yes I've had follow up & they've said they aren't going to do another blood test as they don't believe it's ectopic & means I don't have to go in every 48hrs for repeat bloods, but confirmed it's a miscarriage.

I've another appointment next Friday to re-scan & if I've not passed sac myself between now & then medical management is next :(

I’m so sorry to hear that plg it's such a difficult time. Hope it all goes okay over the next few weeks and you can take it easy x
