Hi, i have just experienced my first miscarriage. Me and my partner are absolutely heartbroken & really struggling with it all. We have a 4 year old daughter, who is managing to make us smile through the pain. How long after did people start trying for another? Thank you

So sorry for your loss , we went through the same thing about 20 months ago and it was utterly devastating, the grief can be overwhelming at times, it will get easier but you need to take it easy on yourself and take time for yourself whether thats talking to friends or time alone for a coffee or whatever gives you the space and strength to get through it. Our 3 year old boy was a huge comfort and distraction at the time, we were so grateful for him. I had counselling but it was quite a few months before I felt ready to try again. Maybe 4? Hard to remember now. We thankfully had a third successful pregnancy after a few months of trying again. I wish you all the best

I'm about 10 weeks from confirmation of the miscarriage of my first pregnancy. It's hard. The first week I was numb (partially do to poor support from NHS), then Andy. Waiting for the negative test was odd after longing for so long for a positive. But then I got it and it was a relief, I knew I was ok and could try again. My first period was also as sense of relief and fresh start but my second completely through me and made me very upset. I didn't expect to be pregnant but it did remind me starkly I was back to waiting and waiting.

Be gentle with yourself. This is hard. But even one miscarriage still means your next pregnancy will almost certainly be positive.

@xAbix sorry for your loss.

We had a mmc in early April at 9 weeks, then naturally started to miscarry but it was incomplete and it ended with erpc surgery in late May. Those 7 weeks and 3 days were horrendous both physically and emotionally.

We decided to try again straight away after the surgery. Just had my first AF last week and now on cycle two.
