Pregnant after 2 miscarriages and TFMR

I posted this a while ago on the pregnancy board but didn’t get anything back.
Much as the title says I find myself pregnant again after several losses. I’m very blessed to have a 2 year old little boy- since I had him I’ve had 2 miscarriages, a natural miscarriage at 10 weeks and a MMC found at my dating scan where the baby had died at 11.5 weeks. I then had an awful time in my last pregnancy which ended in TFMR at 20 weeks. I suppose I’m just looking for some hope from anyone who has been through similar that this time it may be ok as right now I just feel like I’m waiting for the inevitable end of the pregnancy and it’s just a matter of when and how.

Hello lovely, I'm very sorry for your losses. I've been there too, I'd had 5 MCs before having my living DD. No TFMR but one MC was due to the baby being unwell so it would have happened if I hadn't miscarried. Lots of people go on to have healthy pregnancies after losses but the worry is always there.

How far along are you? Due to your losses you may be allowed more scans if you're with the NHS, or if you can manage to go private you could pay for a couple of extra scans in between the NHS ones if that'll reassure you.

@Carrieonmywaywardsun I’m sorry for your losses too and happy to hear you got your DD in the end. Did they ever find a reason for your losses? I’m 9+2 and I’ve been referred back to fetal medicine unit who dealt with my last pregnancy so I’m hoping they’ll give me some extra scans later in the pregnancy if I get that far. I’ve decided not to go for any early private scans this time as I had several in my last two pregnancies and everything looked fine at 8, 9 and 11 weeks, all normal heartbeats and measuring fine. Unfortunately things seem to go wrong for me at my dating scan after 12 weeks so it’s just a waiting game at the moment

I never found a cause but I have hypothyroidism which puts me at higher risk of infertility and MCs. I didn't have trouble getting pregnant so I was brushed off by the NHS.

I'm glad you're comfortable with your decision to not do early scans, there's always the option if you need it later on.

I wish you the best and have my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you x
