Hi all
Over the last year I have had 2 miscarriages both before 12 weeks.

I have know I have had FVL since 2015 and had 3 DVTs between then and now. Even though I had discussed trying to get pregnant with my Haematology Consultant they were slow at getting me the proper medication. The first time round I was given Clexane and the swapped to 7500 units of Fragmin. The second time I started on 7500 units of Fragmin but ended up getting a DVT in my leg as the dose was too low for my size, so they upped in to 20000 units a day. I was only them prescribed Asprin once I had had my first midwife appointment, unfortunately 2 days after starting the aspirin, I miscarried on Christmas Eve.

We have decided to start trying again and the Consultants now seem to have got a plan in place regarding my medication (Fragmin, Asprin , Progesterone) but all I have heard are horror stories and I just want to know if there is anyone else out there that has been through this and had a positive outcome?

Firstly I'm incredibly sorry to hear about your miscarriages.

I also have FVL, which was discovered halfway through my first pregnancy. My sister also has it and had a DVT some years previously (after having three children herself) and so I was screened for it. I then took fragmin throughout the reminder of my pregnancy with no issues. I was on blood thinners pretty early on with my second pregnancy. We both also have a secondary blood clotting disorder that I can't recall the name of right now.

My sister had a stillbirth in 2016 which was due to negligence from the hospital - she had a blood clot on her liver which they failed to manage - but she has had two further children since then.
