Ureaplasma

Just wondering whether anyone has been tested/treated for ureaplasma? Ive just experienced my second miscarriage in 5 months. I recently had vaginal swab done to investigate causes of recurrent utis and I came up positive for ureaplasma, which is linked to miscarriages. Just wondering whether anyone has any personal experience with this?

No but I'm looking to get a test done as I suffer from chronic bv/frequent utis. May I ask where you got yours done? My gp has never even heard of ureaplasma when I brought it up.

My naturopath did a test of my vaginal microbiome and it came up. I went back to my GP with the results and she did another test and it came up. My GP had heard of it but i don't think she would have thought to test for it otherwise. I got my partner tested at his GP and he came up for it positive too so we have just done the antibiotics for it.

I'd never seen a naturopath before but seeing one has been the best thing for my utis. Let me know if you have any questions, I know how hard to frequent utis can be! Hope you find some answers x

What treatment did they give you if you don't mind me asking, I've had antibiotics just thrown at me recently so wonder! Il have to look up Naturopaths locally!

@StressedSandwich they gave me azithromyson and they gave my partner doxycycline. I wouldn't recommend azithromyson though as it didn't work for me. Go the doxy. These are the only two antibiotics that work for Ureaplasma,
