When did you get a negative pregnancy test?

I had a medical management 3 weeks ago after a mmc at 10 weeks. I've got no pregnancy symptoms anymore and we are pretty sure I passed the sac. But today I took a pregnancy test at the 3 week mark as recommended by the epu and though it is much fainter than when I tested at about 5 weeks it is still positive. How long did it take to become negative? Could it mean there might still be some stuff left behind or would it be still a strong positive if that was the case?

I recommend contacting your epu. It could be that it just takes a bit longer or it could be retained products. Mine recommended contacting them if I was positive after three weeks and I had another scan to check. Are you still bleeding?

I found it was a mmc (9weeks) for two weeks before natural miscarriage started. Then I went ~four weeks and was still bleeding small amounts and had a feint positive. I went for another scan and they found retained products. I then opted for ERPC and a week after that I got a negative.

Just to add even if you are not bleeding it’s still worth calling your epu and explaining to them that you are testing positive. My bleeding was getting to the point of stopping and re-starting. So I kept thinking I’m at the end of it.

@cocoforbes I got a negative just over 4 weeks after my medical management. I was getting very faint positives for about 2 weeks before that, so it took a little while for the last of the hCG to go. I did have a tiny bit of retained tissue 10 days post medical management, but because I got my negative the EPU said I might have reabsorbed it, or it will come away with my period. I just got my period a couple of days after my negative and so far it’s fairly normal for me.

If you haven’t had a scan since your medical management it would be worth asking the EPU for one as PP says, just so they can check there’s nothing left over. Wishing you all the best x

Thanks for your replies @Blue2020 and @ChipAndDip. It's really useful to hear about you experiences. I am not still bleeding, brown sludgy stuff cleared up a couple of days ago so I bled for just over 2 weeks I think. I did try to ring the epu this morning but I think they are closed due to the bank holidays, will ring them first thing on Monday :)
