Is this normal for a miscarriage?

Hey ladies!

This is my first miscarriage and it doesn't feel normal from everything I've read... I'm 7 weeks and unfortunately my body started the process last night

I had a small amount of bright red blood, followed by a need to push and a mass the size of a lemon came out of me (it didn't hurt I just knew I had to push if that makes sense)

Since then I've had minimal bleeding if anything it's stained red and is a rather clear jelly like substance, I always have only very light pain in my lower back and abdomen I feel normal apart from absolutely exhausted!

Surely this isn't normal? I've read that women bleed heavy for weeks/bad pain?

Should I go to a&e to get scanned? (Our epu is only open Mon-fri)

Thank you 💝

My experience was very different to yours but it wasn't heavy bleeding and pain. I spotted brown for 2 weeks. Then I bled bright red for 5 days, enough to need a pad but not more than the second day of my period. I had some light period-type cramping on one day. I did continue to have pregnancy symptoms for 2 weeks after confirmation of miscarriage.

Sorry for your loss.

Ive had three losses and they've all been different.

At my hosptial EPAU have slots for emergencies accessed by a and e but only Monday to Friday.

so if it were me and I felt otherwise ok I'd wait until 7am Monday morning as EPAU opens at 8am and because I'd know I'd go to and e wait 6 hours and told to come back Monday.

However if you went today they would take your BHCG levels and start monitoring those.

If I felt unwell at all I'd go to a and e and shoulder too pain is sign of ectopic

The first thing I did with my first loss (which was weird situation as I didn't know is was pregnant ) was call 111. So you could do do that.

I’ve had multiple miscarriages (between 6-9 weeks pregnant) and although your uterus would be lemon sized at 7 weeks, the pregnancy sac is actually lot smaller so maybe you were a lot further along than you thought?
it might be a good idea to seek medical attention.
sorry for your loss.

I've had several miscarriages and yes it does sound to me like you have passed the pregnancy. You can pass your entire deciduous caste (uterine lining) in one go and that will likely have contained the sac. To be honest if you never had a scan to confirm there was a sac then it's likely there would have hardly been anything to pass so what you have passed sounds right x

@Angelxmama I am so sorry for you loss. Our stories are very similar, mine way very similar. It seemed to come out in one neat package😞, I did have more bleeding a few days later around 3-4 and a few small clots here and there.
I said to the nurse I was expecting far more pain etc, she said it can be different for all.

I am sorry you are going through this 💐

Izzyboo1234 · 28/05/2022 20:28

@Angelxmama ps i self referred to the EPAU, glad I did for the reassurance as the internal scan checked everything out!

Angelxmama · 30/05/2022 11:07

Thank you, this has made me feel abit more "normal" I have a scan 8:20am tomorrow at EPAU

I weirdly still feel pregnant (achy boobs, MS) but I can't imagine at all that I can have a viable pregnancy after what came out (and If I did then I definitely lost an organ!)

All I have had since then is some pinkish watery discharge everytime I wipe but nothing that makes me like oh yeah that's what happens, I know I'm miscarrying but I feel like I haven't, my head is saying I haven't (tho it's probably because I don't want to believe it and because it doesn't match what I was told happens)
❤️

@Angelxmama I’m so sorry 😞 I can totally relate to your experience. I felt the same and yesterday morning I woke up and felt empty/not pregnant anymore.

look after yourself 💐

I am also so sorry for your loss 💔
I've woken up this morning and my boobs feel less tender than before 😭 have my scan in a couple hours and I'm still trying to hold onto that silly little bit of hope
