Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Help/Advice needed :)

I found out I was pregnant after two years TTC, I went for a private scan on Monday and baby measured 7.1mm with no heartbeat so they referred me to the EPAU for a missed miscarriage. I went yesterday ( 3 days later ) and they scanned me 3 times and somebody else came in to check and they measured baby at 5.6mm (again no heartbeat) and couldn't confirm it was a miscarriage as its under the 7mm guidelines and they can't take the private scan as confirmation as it wasn't NHS. I've been asked to go back next week for another scan to see if baby grows but I'm totally in limbo now, they couldn't/wouldnt tell me if the baby could have shrunk in that time. Has anybody else ever experienced this? I'm totally lost 😞

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I haven't had the exact same experience but I was also shocked at how slow it can be to determine a miscarriage, the limbo land is hell.
I think they wouldn't confirm size as it's so hard to measure accurately at that stage and also things are very uncertain so it could still turn out positive. I hope it does for you.

A heads up if it doesn't, something that caught me by surprise is that you can keep having pregnancy symptoms for weeks even after a confirmed miscarriage as it takes a while for your hormones to return to usual.

@ZoeQ90 thank you for replying, I'm just so confused how the measurements are different over the matter of a few days, defo the limbo train is horrible!

Thank you again xx

Hintere, I wondered if you could possibly share the outcome? Worried. Thank you.

Hi, I'm so sorry this didn't end well for me, I ended up going back 2 more times before they confirmed a miscarriage. I'm sorry I don't have better news xx
