Just went for a scan this afternoon and was told baby had stopped developing shortly after 6w. I'd had a scan at 6w due to a previous ectopic, I was only one day behind my dates at that stage. My measurements today had pretty much doubled but there was no heartbeat as one would normally expect, and it was nowhere near the size of a 9w 3 day pregnancy. Evidence of blood sitting behind the sac so I was told I should start to mc in the next few days.
I've now had
- A loss at 6w
- Successful pregnancy with DD, now 2.5. C section delivery.
- A missed miscarriage identified at 10w (stopped developing at 7w)
- A chemical
- An ectopic, losing a tube
- This missed miscarriage, stopped developing at 6w.
Number 3 happened in April 2021, so this is all within the space of 13 months.
I'm 33, DH is 36- he is also DD’s dad. I had blood tests done after the ectopic and had slightly raised immune markers, but I did test positive for covid a few days after the blood draw which is the likely explanation for that. All other results were normal.
I was on progesterone pesseries through this pregnancy, as well as 75mg of aspirin and vit D. Any time I've been seen at the EPU they've shrugged off any suggestion of a structural issue, but no investigations in that respect. I'd been referred to the recurrent MC unit but it'll be August or September at the earliest before I'm seen, given the 8-9 month waiting list.
I was hoping someone might have a positive story or shared history which might explain why this keeps happening to me. I don't know at this stage if going private might help, but I also don't want to be pissing money against a wall. What would you do, if you were me?
