Pregnancy loss confusion

Hi

I'm very new to these boards and wondering if anyone could help me figure out what happened with my chemical pregnancy last month. I still feel so confused by it all and want to understand a bit more what might have happened. If anyone can shed any light or similar experience I would be so grateful! Apologies in advance for the long message.

I had my normal period on 1/3. Had sex once on 9/3. I had some strange symptoms like tingling breasts and sore back prior to AF and had thought briefly that I may be pregnant, but then AF started early (usual cycle is 25 days) on 23/3. My period was light but much longer than usual and definitely a different consistency- almost watery. I also had Covid-19 at the same time (from 22-29 March), so I thought that slightly unusual period was because of that. After 6 days of light, watery bleeding I continued to have brown spotting for 2 weeks, which I have never experienced before. On 4, 5, 6 April I had dull pelvic pain front and back and was quite concerned so booked a doctors appointment. They told me to take a pregnancy test to eliminate that and low and behold, it was a BFP. It was a clear blue digital that said 1-2 weeks. I was in total shock and quite panicked as it was not something we had planned, but very quickly came round to the idea, and we were really excited. I did another test the next morning and it said the same. I then went on holiday for 10 days. Got really sore boobs, and dull pelvic pain, but nothing too bad and then on 15/4 (which is roughly when my period had been due if I had not known I was pregnant) had some bleeding. This went on for 3 days and felt to me like my normal period. No pain, very light. When I got back from holiday I did another test in the evening (17/4) and it was a very, very faint positive. I did another the next morning and it was completely negative. I already had a scan booked in to check about the bleeding and that confirmed that there was no sign of a pregnancy. They called it a Pregnancy of Unknown Location. They also found a small cyst on my left ovary. I was devastated and have been left really confused, as it's almost like I have had two normal(ish) periods yet was pregnant in the middle. The postive part is that it has made us realise we do want to start a family, so we are now going to to start TTC.

I'm trying to work out which bleed I lost the pregnancy - could it have been the first one and I lost it very very early and test still showed postive after 10 days? Or the second bleed that was super light with no pain? Any help at all would be very appreciated!

Thank you so much for your reply - much appreciated. Our bodies can be very confusing sometimes.
