Period-like bleeding at four weeks

Hi,

I’ve had my pregnancy confirmed by hcg blood test yesterday but started period-like bleeding last night and all day today. The doctor says there’s nothing he can do for me I just have to wait it out and see if I’m still pregnant in a few days. Is this other people’s experience? Is there any hope at all that I’m not actually miscarrying?

Thank you ♥️

Hey hun, didn't want to read and run. The Dr is right.. there isn't anything he can do at this stage. Just stay calm and test again in a couple of days. Please don't assume you've miscarried because you're bleeding as I thought I had miscarried at 4 weeks but a test 3 weeks later showed that I was still pregnant but it was ectopic. So be safe and test until you're negative xx

Thank you ♥️ I’ve done a test this morning and it’s much stronger than yesterday’s. I am slightly worried because of the bleeding that it’s ectopic as I have had some one-sided pain very early on, at like three weeks. Thanks for your response x

@Annelyra18 it could be completely innocent and might not be anything so try not to panic. Maybe call your DR Monday and get referred to EPU unless you have been under them previously in which case you could call them directly. They'll do your bloods and see if your HCG is doubling etc depending on your dates. Just don't leave it unchecked xx

Just as an update to this… I am getting stronger and stronger lines on pregnancy tests despite bleeding?? I’m gonna call the docs asap. It’s bank holiday on Monday so I’ll have to wait til Tuesday!

Second update for anybody who comes across this thread - I’ve had a HCG blood test and whilst they’re still on the low side, they’ve more than doubled since Thursday (today is Sunday). There’s hope! The bleeding was literally like a heavy period but it seems to have settled down now.

@Annelyra18 I have my figures crossed for you. What were your HCG levels?

Annelyra18 · 01/05/2022 13:43

They were 6 on Thursday and now they’re 26, so they’ve much more than doubled in that time frame but are still p low x

You may just be really early. It's not the initial HCG that matters. It's the doubling so I have my fingers crossed this all works out for you 😊😊 x

Hey :) unfortunately been lightly spotting and tests are getting lighter so I think it’s not gonna end well for me. How are you? X
