Is this an early miscarriage?

Really hope I am being unreasonable with this.

Have been ttc for 6 months with no luck. I'm at high risk of ectopics.

Over past two days I've been spotting - period is due in 5 days now. I always get light spotting before my period begins for 5-7 days.

Today I've had a clot. I never get clots in the run up to the period beginning.

Is this likely to be an early miscarriage/ectopic? I understand no one has a crystal ball and I don't want to ring doctors as I'm not knowingly pregnant anyway. The clot has just concerned me and worried me that this could be miscarriage/ectopic.

Hello, I'm sorry you're going through this and hope you're doing ok. Have you done a pregnancy test? If so and it's positive, you can ring your GP or local early pregnancy unit to ask their advice. If it's negative, it could be just period being weird or maybe a chemical pregnancy but I'm not a doctor obviously.
