Missed miscarriage - new symptoms?!

Hi everyone,

Last week I went to an 8 week ‘reassurance’ scan and found out my baby was only measuring 5 weeks (I think 3.5mm ‘tiny’ fetal pole so might be less?) and had no detectable heartbeat. I’m currently waiting for an NHS scan to confirm then unfortunately I’m guessing I’ll have to come back after that one too because they don’t accept private scans.
I’m almost certain on the date I ovulated and I was testing at 3+ weeks at 5 weeks pregnant so I couldn’t possibly be 5 weeks as I would’ve had to conceive after getting a positive if that makes sense.
The weird thing is my sickness isn’t going away & I’ve started getting new symptoms. I never really had sore boobs before which I now have. I also have heartburn which I’ve never experienced before and at first couldn’t even figure out what was up with me.
Has anyone else experienced this? Should my symptoms be going away? I don’t really understand this

Unfortunately your body still thinks it’s pregnant because your baby is still inside you and, as the hcg will be causing the symptoms. It’s just another awful thing to deal with alongside the other emotional and physical upset.

Thank you for replying. It’s awful it really is, I’m really struggling to cope in this limbo. I almost thought I was getting better (emotionally) but I’ve completely reverted back today and just feel heartbroken.

@sausageandbeansx yes your symptoms will be because of the HcG still in your system and you body hasn’t picked up on that fact. I still have symptoms.

i went for private scan 2 weeks ago. Was 8 weeks only measuring 6. Got into EPu and they confirmed it was failed pregnancy. But am going for my second rescan today an then can have options as nothing has happened naturally.

very sorry. It’s very difficult to wait. Just take each day as it comes.
