HELP - 6 week MC, BIG bleed!

Hello all,

I'm looking for some help / advice to know if my current situation is normal.

I started miscarrying on 10th March, had heavy bleeding, pain and clots and the bleeding and pain subsided after about 12-14 days.

3 weeks after I started miscarrying my pregnancy tests were still strong positives and getting darker each time I tested so I went for a scan at the EPU who said there was a little bit of tissue left and to give it another 3 weeks and call again if it was not negative.

Since then I have had light bleeding and cramps on and off. I took a test this morning (attached) which has the FAINTEST line so I am sure it will be negative by tomorrow (which is the 3 weeks after my scan at the EPU).

This evening I have had really bad cramps, and I have bled through a super plus tampon in an hour - I went to the toilet (we were out for food - bad timing!) and the toilet bowl was literally filled with blood, my tampon was absolutely saturated and it was like it was pouring out of me. I am at home now in bed, my ears and head are ringing, I'm a bit shaky, shivering even though my heating is on full whack and I don't know if this is normal or I need to be seen?

I don't know if this is just me losing the bit of tissue and I need to let it pass and rest or if this is not normal? Any similar experiences or advice?

Hi,
So sorry to hear about your MC. Sounds like you’ve been through a lot.
I’m really concerned by the fever, head ringing, shakes and heavy bleed. You need to get checked out.

Call 111 at the very least. Hope you’re not home alone?

Sorry to hear this, it's awful to go through but you're not alone.

Please, as PP said, in the very least call 111, however personally I would be heading to A&E. You may have an infection although it does sound like the last of the tissue, but best to be safe and get checked x

So sorry for your loss. I echo PPs - it sounds like you need some medical attention. The shivering could be a temperature which would indicate an infection. Better safe than sorry Flowers

I'm sorry to hear this. It isn't advised to use tampons when miscarrying, only use pads. Definitely get checked this evening as you do have some concerning symptoms. I'd insist on another scan too, I've had retained tissue from a loss before and lingering hcg following another loss, better to be safe ❤️

Hi OP, have you managed to get medical attention? I would say A&E for something like this - even if you called 111 I would think they'd tell you to go to A&E. It sounds like you've had an incredibly tough few weeks, hope it all gets better very soon.
