Long miscarriage

Wondering if anyone has experience a long winded miscarriage?
I started spotting at just gone 8 weeks and a few pains and cramps. Had a drs appointment which referred me to EPAU 2 days later. Had a scan and there looked like a sac but no baby,I was then sent for a blood test and another 48hrs later. My bloods hadn’t halved so I was again asked to have another blood test, barely any decrease again, back 2 days later and the same ?
EPAU then asked the next day to come in for another scan to see what was happening. There was still some pregnancy tissue but was moving down. When the nurse spoke to the consultant they decided to leave it a week and come back for another scan. One week one and I had passed some tissue and clots tuning it was all ok. The scan showed there was still tissue there and not much change from the week before. The nurse and consultant agreed I would need a hand to get an end to all of it, I then had the start of a medical miscarriage treatment and was given 4 pessaries to take home and use 48hrs after. We’ll later that afternoon things kicked off and during a walk with my mil and 12yr old daughter (both eh knew nothing) I had masses of blood loss and just needed to get home. On getting back home there was a huge amount of tissue loss, followed by 4/5 more episodes of clots a and tissue. Honestly horrific!
Following day and it’s calmed down a bit, stupidly I went to an exercise class so I could be more me and towards the end again so much blood. Managed to get home and again more tissue and a crazy amount of blood. It’s crazy what we go through!
That was Thursday and it’s now Monday nights and I’m still bleeding nothing compared to what it was but still not stopped.
Has anyone had this happen to them? I feel like 3 weeks on and I’m still feeling all over the place and like I’ve been through this miscarriage over and over

@SophO703 I can understand your frustration. I had no idea that miscarriage could take so long or be so horribly inconclusive!

I found out that I had a MMC at the end of February (embryo stopped growing at 6w, scan at 9). Because my private scan was an abdominal scan, I had to have two vaginal scans at the EPU, one week apart. Between the scans, I passed the sac naturally (and painfully), and was later told that there was just a tiny bit of "something" and lining remaining. It's now been three weeks since the sac passed, and five since I first found out about it, and I'm still having a fair bit of bleeding and back pain. I took a PG test this morning and I'm still testing positive. Now waiting on a call from a EPU nurse.

I hope the physical stuff calms down and you're able to move on soon.

So sorry for your loss. I had MMC at 9 weeks and bled for 3 weeks straights after medical management. Still spotting at week 4.

Hope it ends very soon for you.

Yes mine lasted 3 months and 5 different procedures and an infection to top it all off :(

After 2 of my erpcs I bled for about 3 days. My chemical about 5 days. I'm currently on day 6 of an expectant management of a pregnancy of unknown location and the bleeding is still the same/if not worse than the start. Cramping on and off. Just want it to be over with or some sign of it letting up.

I feel your pain. My miscarriage started at the end of January. I’ve had 5 scans, 2 lots of the pessaries for medical management, been sent for surgery, surgery was cancelled as they are worried about the pregnancy tissue having lots of blood vessels, am now awaiting a hysteroscopy to see what the tissue looks like - appointment towards the end of May at which point my miscarriage will have been going on for 4 months - and there is no end in sight! I’m exhausted mentally and physically.

I have just come across this thread desperate to see if what I am going through is normal.

I had to have a medical termination in January after no heartbeat at 8 weeks. I bled for 5 weeks which I thought was normal, I then started soaking through pads one day at work and was bleeding non stop so ended up in A&E to find out I had an infection and retained products.

They wanted me to take tablets again to pass products with medication but then decided I had to have a ERPC as I had already lost too much blood. That was march 29th and I bled for 10 days stopped for 3 then bled for another 7 with cramps which I thought was my period. I’ve had on and off discharge and a little bit of blood since then and now I feel like I’ve got period cramps and bleeding again.

Not only is this emotionally exhausting but I’m physically drained from this and just want to stop bleeding. I’ve had numerous scans, I even paid for a private scan and the doctor said he could still see retained products but a tiny amount but when I was scanned at the hospital after, they said my womb is empty and it was the lining of my womb he could see.

Is it normal to bleed on and off for nearly 5 weeks after the procedure. I really want to TTC again and have been told by 4 doctors to try again after one cycle but I feel my body is still not back to normal.
