Light bleeding for 24 hours - stops and starts

I have had a missed miscarriage (confirmed by scan), baby stopped growing at 6+3 and I’m 8+4 now. Since last night I’ve had very light bleeding that stops and starts. I’m wondering how long it is likely to take before it gets going properly, I’d like to be prepared! I’m booked in for surgery on Thursday so hoping it holds off until then.

Sorry you're going through this.

I was similar in that I would bleed on/ off. Have spotting. Cramping and was convinced it would happen naturally.

In the end I had surgery.

I think every woman is different and some have warning before a natural Mc but some don't.

Thanks for the reply, how long did your on/off bleeding go on for before you had surgery? I’ve had some minor cramps and I keep thinking the floodgates are about to open but it hasn’t happened yet.

It was on/ off for 5-6 weeks and the day before surgery there was none.

Hopefully you'll make it to tomorrow now- I've heard surgery is a better / less painful option. I'm glad I chose this as difficult as it was.

Thank you 😊 bit heavier today but still not really amounting to much, there’s definitely a lot more that needs to come out! So yes surgery is going ahead tomorrow.

Hope it all goes well although it'll be awful 😣

Thank you, I’m just looking forward to getting it over and done with. The surgery was supposed to happen on Monday but at 6pm having sat in the hospital all day and no food or drink since 7pm the night before they told me they didn’t have time to do it 😞. So at this point I just want it over with, Monday was awful.

Omg that is absolutely terrible.

Hope today happens early on then and yes I totally get what you mean, in order to move on this will definitely bring the closure you need so you can start processing it all.

Take care.

@TellOrNot1981 how are you?

TellOrNot1981 · 04/03/2022 08:15

Hi @Ellie5341 I’m feeling ok thanks, the surgery went ahead this time thank goodness. Was in quite a bit of pain last night but seems to have eased off today. Just going to rest as much as I can for a couple of days. Thanks for checking in x

Glad it wasn't moved again. Have plenty of rest and painkillers.

Take care.
