Still some bleeding 5 weeks after miscarriage

Hi

We found out we had a missed miscarriage on 5th January - I was 12 weeks but measuring 8. We went the medical management on 7th but 10 days later I had to have surgery as I developed an infection and had retained products of conception.

It’ll be 5 weeks on Wednesday since the surgery. I’m still getting a positive pregnancy test and still having some light bleeding after exercise mostly.

I had a scan on Monday and they seem reassured there’s nothing left. My HCG is at 30, so nearly there but not quite.

I have another blood test tomorrow.

I’m just wondering if anyone has had it drag on like this? I keep thinking the bleeding is finally over and then I’ll have another little bit more - highly frustrating and am incredibly fed up. I know the normal is 2-3 weeks but every body is different.

Any similar stories or anything would be gratefully appreciated now!! Thank you

Just thought I'd let you know I'm in a similar situation had an early miscarriage at 6 weeks, and bleeding for 5 weeks after ,still going, blood test again tomorrow, hope it stops soon so I can get back to normal and maybe try again.

Heya - Mine finally stopped in early March, so probably at 6-7 weeks. Plus it turned out the final bit of bleeding was my first period.

I hope you get there soon - I know how horrible it is wanting to move on and feeling like you can't.

My HCG took till early March to drop below 10 too.

As the nurse said - not everyone is text book. Important to remember.
