Period after miscarriage

Hi all

I had a natural miscarriage 3 weeks ago and the bleeding slowed and almost stopped a week ago. The past 2 days the bleeding has started getting heavier again and I'm having period like cramps again. Could this be my next period or is it still the miscarriage?

I'm really confused as for what I've read, the further along you were when the miscarriage happened, the longer it could take for period to return and I miscarried at over 12 weeks.

It's so disheartening, I was just starting to feel physically better but it feels like I've taken 10 steps backwards.

Hello
I'm sorry for your loss
I had a MC 4 weeks ago and it's tough.
A positive pregnancy test will confirm if its still the miscarriage
A negative test would indicate its your next period which is expected to be heavy.
Peace and Love

Thank you for your reply and I'm sorry to hear you have been through it too.

Yes that makes sense, I have had a negative pregnancy test so it must be my period. I just didn't expect it so soon after.

So sorry for your loss, I think cycles can be all over the place after MC. I ovulated quote quickly after mine which I wasn't expecting. If you're worried though do give your GP a call.

Thanks for replying xx

I'm still bleeding, it hasn't slowed at all. My partner is concerned something might be wrong, or maybe there is still something remaining inside. I'm going to phone the gp tomorrow but I'm dreading having to go back to be scanned if they think that's the case too.

@Zincoop sorry to hear this.

We are just ready to ttc again after my mmc so I've not long been through lots of contact with the hospital as there were some complications.

Call your EPU as this is something that needs checking. No one knows what's going on inside until they look. Not great for you having to go through a check but the sooner it's done the sooner you can be helped (if needed) or it might be your mind is put to rest.
