6 weeks, am I experiencing a miscarriage?

I’m 6 weeks pregnant and yesterday morning I woke up with blood in my knickers and I started to panic, I was filling up a period pad within an hour so I went to the hospital in which the nurse examined me and said my cervix was closed which is a good sign and sometimes bleeding can be normal in early pregnancy, I know have to wait a week to get a scan to see what’s what but I’m still bleeding quite heavy and my anxiety is going through the roof 😭 has anybody experienced this and what was the income?

Bleeding in first trimester can be common, but filling a pad every hour is a lot. Do you have an early pregnancy unit that you can go to? The worst part is the wait unfortunately.

I've had 3 pregnancies with bleeding before 13weeks. 1 was a miscarriage, the other 2 are 4&5yrs old now. Unfortunately bleeding in early pregnancy is quite common and sometimes it's a symptom of miscarriage.

There's nothing you can do with way apart from to be as kind to yourself as possible. Fingers crossed for you

I have to take a pregnancy test on Friday and see what the results are, they can’t give me a scan until a week today! It’s making me feel sick!

Did they not do your bloods? When it happened to me they did them then and again in 24 hours I think it was checking hormone levels.

No they didn’t do my bloods but I’ve got a midwife appointment booked for Wednesday for bloods, maybe I’ll know more then. X

Go for a private scan

How did you get on x

This happened to me at 6 weeks and I freaked out and assumed it was a miscarriage. I called my midwife and she got me into EPU for a scan that same afternoon! That baby is nearly 1 and it was a haematoma causing the bleeding. The thing I noticed at the time is there was no pain with the bleeding, which turned out to be a good sign.
It's rubbish that they're making you wait a week. Could you get a private scan? You should be able to see a heart beat from 6 weeks (I saw both mine at 6 weeks, 1 an IVF baby and the other due to the bleeding)

Sorry I've just seen this post is a month old, doh! Hope you got good news x

Hi, I unfortunately lost the baby, I was around 7/8 weeks and the bleeding continued for around 2 weeks, it was awful, wouldn’t wish it upon anyone, thanks for thinking of me x

This happened to me too, unfortunately it's quite common. Hope you're feeling ok.
