Fever during miscarriage

I’ve been going through a miscarriage at 6 weeks the last 9 days but start feeling very poorly yesterday. Spoke with doctor and booked in to EPU tomorrow morning but my temperature is going up (38 at present). Really worried about infection. At what point do I need to go a&e? Just feel like I’ve coming down with the flu… as if a miscarriage wasn’t hard enough now I feel this unwell.

@Seasidegirl11 so sorry to hear what you are going through, I would suggest you go to A&E to be on the safe side hun not worth taking the risk of an infection. Wishing you all the best Daffodil

A+E. I was admitted for IV antibiotics immediately after I was found to have a fever in your situation. I'm so sorry, it is hard to go through.

Thank you both. Temperature rocketed to 39, had a scan this morning and confirmed ectopic. Luckily have caught early before tube burst and awaiting surgery this afternoon x

@Seasidegirl11 I'm so sorry to hear this but so thankful they caught it before it burst. I hope you're feeling as ok as can be under the circumstances. Wishing you all the luck in the world for your op x

@Seasidegirl11 I hope you are recovering from surgery now. Glad you got there in time. I'm sorry you are having to go through such trauma. x

Thanks both, out of recovery and back on ward. Sore but feel a million times better than I did before the op. No more shakes, fever and pain. Made it easier knowing how much better it’s made me feel. Will hopefully be home tomorrow to finish recovering there xxx

Good morning, glad to hear surgery went well, wishing you a speedy recovery x

Mumzoo5070 · 29/01/2022 15:10

@Seasidegirl11 thinking of you x

Seasidegirl11 · 29/01/2022 19:46

@Mumzoo5070 thank you. I’m back home recovering now. Feeling a little less sore but really weak and dizzy plus have had a banging headache all day. Hospital called and bloods are showing an infection so back in tomorrow to be assessed to decide whether I need to be readmitted or sent home with tablets x x

Do you still have a temperature? Hope they treat your infection promptly. Sorry you are still having to go back but glad they are on the case. I had a week in hospital on I.V. antibiotics and was well looked after. Will be following your progress, I hope you will be well soon x

Seasidegirl11 · 29/01/2022 21:20

No I haven’t had a temperature since I woke up from the operation. So maybe I’ve fought off whatever it was or it’s quite mild. I cannot believe how much I’m sleeping, literally haven’t been able to stay awake longer than a couple of hours at a time today. Thats a new one for me as I never nap! I’ll update on how it goes tomorrow x

Hope you got on OK today x

Mumzoo5070 · 31/01/2022 13:01

How are you today? X

Seasidegirl11 · 31/01/2022 15:24

Hi both, being treated with IV antibiotics, was in hospital yesterday and back in today. Apparently I have bacteria that causes chest infections in my blood which is rare and they aren’t sure how it got there. But hoping next blood tests and clear then I can just be treated with oral antibiotics, otherwise they will need me back in. It’s a bit bizarre tbh! I don’t feel unwell at all x

Hope your next blood test is OK, glad they are looking after you. Thinking of you and hope you get to stop going in and out of the hospital soon x

Seasidegirl11 · 02/02/2022 12:40

Allowed me to be treated with oral antibiotics so luckily no more hospital visits. Can just rest up at home now and try process all what’s happened this past week. Xxx
