Progesterone pessary vaginal or rectal insertion?

As the title says really. I have Been trying to find an answer on dr Google but can’t get a clear answer. I’ve been advised to take 75mg of aspirin per day and 2 x 200mg cyclogest progesterone pessaries per day as a precautionary measure due to recurrent miscarriage (3 back to back) before I manage to see anyone for testing as there is a long wait list. I am now 4 weeks pregnant again. Assuming I do 1 progesterone pessary in the morning and 1 at night? In terms of taking them does it matter which entry route they take?? It says rectal or vaginal on the box but don’t want to be doing it wrong and forgot to ask the doc. Thank you in advance.

Also sorry if this is the wrong board, I’m more of a reader than a poster so not sure on what the right place to post is

I was told my my IVF clinic to do mine vaginally, but I don't think it really matters. Downside to vaginally was that I had to lie down for 20 minutes after each use and then the paste all came sliding out over the next few hours, I found it smelled horribly sweet and made me constantly feel sticky and disgusting, it stained my pants and bedsheets if it got on them and I was reluctant for any intimacy unless I had just showered. I imagine rectally would resolve some of these issues but I stuck with what I was instructed and currently 21+5. I would just try and space them out as best you can through the day, I did morning lunchtime and evening as I was using them 3 times a day.

I took the same for recurrent late losses I always did vaginal including during the time I was hospitalised, one morning and one at night.
You do get used to it they are like tiny mini candles.

I took for recurrent loss and IVF and up the bum is waaaaaay easier no mess and no lying down just ok it up with a bit of KY jelly and on your way. I would highly recommend doing it that way!

Rectum and vaginal wall are so close to each other internally it doesn't matter which way in terms of it being absorbed it is equally effective

Vaginally -as instructed by IVF clinic gave me thrush, rectally ended up a bit sore.
I actually ended up just alternating. V at night before bed as I would be lying down so it wouldn’t fall out.

Thank you so much for your replies. Tried the first one and thought it was really easy. Til I moved and had to reinsert then went to the loo a couple of hours later to the mess it had left! Think I need some practice 😂 at least I know which hole to put it in ideally now 😆 thank you so much for your replies and advice and also very sorry for your losses x

I was advised by IVF clinic that rectally was less messy but could insert it either way I preferred.

Thank you @Metallicalover, will try to stick with front door if I can hack it and try alternating if it gets too much
