Medical Miscarriage - first pill?

Sara444 · 24/12/2021 11:49

I have to take the first pill to induce miscarriage today. Then back in on the 26th for more pills.
What are the chances of it happening later today or tomorrow?

They said it could happen but they can't predict of course. :(

I had my first pill on Tuesday and just had a bit of spotting, no pain. Everything got going quite quickly once I'd had my second one on Thursday.

Are you going in for the day? Have a hot water bottle handy, it really made a difference. Sending lots of love x

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I'm going in for the day.
Great tip - I'll add that to my list.

I found going in for the day much less anxiety inducing than doing it at home alone (although, I'm a nurse so a ward is very much my comfort zone so appreciate that might not be the same for everyone else). The best things I took were the hot water bottle, spare clothes just in case, phone charger, laptop/tablet with something easy downloaded. I also bought a pack of incontinence pants for the first couple of nights, they're super absorbent so you don't have to get out of bed as often.

I had mine the day before yesterday now, but was OK to travel 3 hours to my parents yesterday (obvs with DH doing the driving and me doing the snoozing). Physically, the whole thing wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be.

Here if you need an understanding ear, or have questions as you go through the day tomorrow. I'm so sorry you have to do this 💕

Thank you so much, Rainbows. I'm sorry you had to go through this too, and as this time of year - just rubbish isn't it.
I'm glad you are still able to see family!

Thinking of you today ❤️

Thanks so much @rainbowsandmagpies that was so nice of you.

I'm still here, but hoping to go home soon. Wasn't quite as bad as I thought it'd be. The nurses have been so kind.

So glad it wasn't as bad as you thought and that you've had lovely care. I can't recommend tena pants more highly for the next couple of days 💕
