Hi Im looking for some advice as it's my first pregnancy/miscarriage.
Im 8 weeks and for the last week been having strong cramps and passing a lot of blood.
Im booked in to see GP the following day Im writing this but just wanted some advice from people who have experienced something similar to me.
As I am a new member I am unable to upload a photo but it looks like a sac with a tail that's the best description I can give. mentally prepared myself to be told I have unfortunately miscarriaged by my symptoms and passing this early on this evening.
I don't know if it's just in my head but now feel like the pain has gone but may differ tomorrow.
Thanks to anyone who can give me some advice if you have been in similar situation and what happens next?
I can imagine them giving me a scan and taking test to confirm etc but does the bleeding get lighter any information would be truly helpful.
Thank you do much.

Didn't want to read and not say sorry for your loss. I'm currently going through a miscarriage, it's tough. Your experience does sound like it might be but only a scan will tell. Your GP will likely refer you to your early pregnancy unit for a scan. That appointment can take a couple of days to come through. You may wish to have a private scan in the meantime if you can't wait but do also keep your NHS one with the early pregnancy unit as they will need to see it for themselves to offer you medical support. For example, if the scan shows that the miscarriage is not complete, they will offer you tablets or a small surgery to remove, or they will offer you pain relief and to continue to support you to miscarry at home. x hope that is helpful.

Some early pregnancy units take self referrals, might be worth giving them a ring? Mine gives next day appointments. Ring the hospital and ask for the early pregnancy assessment unit. They're kept well away from the maternity ward and I found the staff to be kind there.

Lots of hugs

Hi @louisex00 after my MC at the start of this month I had a scan (it was already booked with EPAU as I'd been having bleeding for about 6 days) and they confirmed I'd had a complete miscarriage, they then took bloods 48hrs apart to make sure my hcg levels were dropping. I was advised to take a pregnancy test 2 weeks from passing the fetus, I tested negative 2 weeks and 1 day later. I stopped bleeding completely and zero pain 4 days after I passed the fetus/sac.
Sorry for your lossFlowers
