Hey there ladies 👋 ,
I’d like some advice or feedback please, if anyone’s been through something similar

I had a blighted ovum miscarriage in October at 11+ 3, with an emptying sac measuring 5 weeks
Had spotting and light bleeding for a week, then painful contractions and ridiculous heavy bleeding to the point of almost passing out for a few hours. I assumed I passed the sac amongst everything because bleeding reduced significantly after that.
Had a scan after that which indicated everything was clear.

I didn’t have a period in between and fell pregnant again. According to my pregnancy test (negative and then positive getting darker) I assume I’m currently 9 or 10 weeks pregnant but a scan 2 weeks ago showed 5 week empty sac again.

Started bleeding a week ago with quite painful cramps and on going period clots and bleeding.

Basically I just want to know if it’s possible to have this type of bleeding in a natural miscarriage and for it to be complete or is the heavy ridiculous bleeding going to start soon? Because I am so scared to leave the house and get beyond stressed when hubby goes to work ( in another town) in case I’m alone when things hit the roof

(Trying to wait for the miscarriage to be complete before doing another scan since I’ve had 3 already and they are quite expensive)

I'm sorry you are going through this.

Are you in the UK? If so our, your local early pregnancy assessment unit should be able to scan and advise on next steps.

I have a pretty heavy flow for the first day or two of my period (empty a mooncup or change a thick pad every 2 hours minimum).
My blighted ovum miscarriage (6 week sac but empty, passed around 9 weeks) was heavier than my period, lots of clots. I didn't feel like I would pass out though. I had medication to help as it was v slow getting going initially.

My 6 week loss on the other hand was like my usual period bleeding. I had a couple of blood tests and my hcg levels fell v quickly that time.

I think it can vary a lot unfortunately, so the only way to be sure is to have a scan, have a hcg blood test or wait a couple of weeks and do a urine test.

I’m sorry for your lossesFlowers

No, I’m in South Africa
I ended up going to my gynea today because I couldn’t handle the pain
She gave me medication to help it along and I’ve started getting contractions and heavy bleeding so I’m waiting to pass the sac sometime today hopefully
