Pregnancy after mmc 💔

Hey,
I was wondering If anyone has had a similar experience but had some success after all the heart ache.

I've had 2 mc one at 5 weeks and one at 10 in the last 8months. I've just finished my first period after my last period and wanting to start ttc. I've had bloods done and back today (bar lupus) and all tests are in the normal parameters which obviously good news. But with this good news I'm thinking why? Why did these 2x mc happen if everything seems ok?

Has anyone been in this situation and gone on to have successful preganancy? Xx

I have read threads about taking asprin after a mc... which I'm planning on doing.

Any help or success you've had at all to pick me up would be a massive help right now!🧡

really sorry about your losses.

most of the time there's no explanation, although some people reckon most early ones are to do with something going wrong at the very rapid cell division period at the start.
if a cell gets damaged and carries on multiplying (with incredibly speed) and so replicating the damage pretty soon there's a whole mass of cells that won't ever function.
one in 3 pgs end in a MC before 3 months. it's sad but there's nothing anyone can do about it and it's not your fault.

my 5th pg ended in a MC at 11w 5 days.
I couldn't bear the thought of starting again immediately (I think that's the less usual reaction) and with 4 healthy kids for a long time I questioned if I can risk it again.
eventually I did. we had 3 more healthy kids.

A friend of mine had 3 kids, 9 MCs in a row (various lengths, I think 4m was the longest), a still birth at 8m then a healthy child!!
Anything is possible!

The very best of luck to you

Hi Op. I’m so sorry for your losses. I had 2 missed miscarriages last year, one at 9 weeks in August and the other at 6 weeks in December. It was heartbreaking as they were much planned for and wanted babies. I couldn’t understand what was going wrong.

I’m now almost 38 weeks pregnant with our rainbow baby. I took aspirin this pregnancy and only stopped on the midwives recommendation at 36 weeks. Totally feel like it’s the reason this pregnancy has worked so far! I’ve been very anxious this time and have kept expecting the worst to happen. Even now every time baby doesn’t move for a bit I have to prod her to wake up as worry something bad has happened. I guess that’s the price I’m paying after the miscarriages.

I truly hope the aspirin helps you and that your next pregnancy is a success. The losses are so difficult but once you get past first trimester the risk of miscarriage is much lower! All the best!!! Flowers

@5Minions2CallMyOwn
Wow our journeys have been so Similar. Honestly it's heartbreaking when you sit back and think isnt it?

Massive congratulations on your lil girl 🧡
I can imagine I'm going to be exactly the same ....Anxious!!!! But your nearly there 🥰

So when you took asprin this time was it from bfp or ovulation? Also how much have you taken daily? Some people have said 75mg and others I've seen are 150mg.
My spealciast has said about taking progerstone pessories as well... at this moment as you probably can relate to I'm happy to do anything at all to get a healthy baby in my arms.xxx
I just hope we catch again soon, we have been so lucky to catch within a few months each time of trying xx

I’m so very sorry for your losses. I’ve also had 2, one in June and one right now. I was wondering how you got tests? Did you get referred by GP or EPU?

Hey, Not sure if this helps but in the last 4 years I've had 3 MC (never made it past 7 weeks) I'm now 19 weeks pregnant. Still a nervous wreck and doesn't feel real but it CAN happen. Good luck ❤️

Hi OP
I've had a MMC at 8 weeks & a mc at 5.5weeks, I do have "sticky blood" which means I'm more prone to clotting which you likely don't have. But I was told by lots of ppl including my ivf consultant to take 75mg after ovulation & if BFP 150mg per day. I'm now 11+6 with pregnancy 3 & I also took 400mg of progesterone from BFP with this one after other rmc clinics recommend it (as no harm but only potential benefits) & I had some left over. I def think it's all helped.

letshope · 08/11/2021 21:10

@doodledeedum If you Google asprin preganancy mumsnet, have a read on people's threads. Its really interesting! And deffo worth while. 150mg from ovulation and each evening untill 36 weeks. Xx

@WorriedGirl91 I'm sorry for what your going through 💔 I paid privately to see a consultant and off the back off that I had a load of bloods taken. This was to rule out main factors like lupus, blood clotting, fsh etc. Deffo worth it as the nhs wouldn't see me as they politely put it... I've "only" had two Angry

@Minster2012 so glad to hear all is well with you!! It deffo gives me hope ❤ im hoping to, to be given progesteone just waiting on news from my consultant.

@letshope, if you don't mind, could you privately message me to let me know how much you paid for your consultation? And what did they find out?

I had my scan today which confirmed MC at the EPU. I'm having the surgery on Friday.

The EPU said no tests, treatments or interventions until I've had 3 as 2 still is relatively common :(.

I've been told we shouldn't try until after my period after this surgery, so 4-6 weeks.

My husband and I realised I've been pregnant for 3 of the last 6.5 months. It's just so rubbish, isn't it.

We hope we've just had awful luck and will try again as soon as we're allowed.

doodledeedum · 10/11/2021 11:32

@WorriedGirl91 oh I'm so so sorry, I feel your pain. 😞

@letshope can I be cheeky as ask the same of you to DM with consultation details too please? I'd be ever so grateful x
