Positive test and symptoms after miscarriage.

Wondering if anyone who's had a miscarriage could confirm if this is normal Please? I found out I'd had a mmc 2 weeks ago at 7 weeks pregnant. I had the pessary inserted that day. That night I bled quite a bit passed some clots, although didn't actually see what I passed. Next morning bleeding totally stopped. Since then I've had some lower back ache and slight period pain. My pregnancy symptoms are still there, Really sore boobs, feelings of nausea and I feel so unwell (fatigued, achy, tired) took a pregnancy test today and it is still a really strong positive. I've called epu and they're going to scan me tomorrow but she was a bit reluctant saying the test can take ages to be negative but surely I wouldn't be feeling so unwell and with strong pregnancy symptoms. Just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this? Thanks

It’s normal to test positive for 3 weeks afterwards.

They should have gone through this with you- very poor care from the EPAU.

Your sickness will go as the HCG drops. It stays in your system even after baby’s heartbeat has stopped.

No need to call them yet. Keep an eye on the bleeding and any signs of infection (smells from down below, painful weeing). If your test is still positive in 3 weeks then call the EPAU back.

Thank you so much for your reply. They did say to test after 3 weeks to be fair. The thing that's concerning me is that if anything my symptoms are stronger than when I found out and also, the test was so dark this morning. It seems odd that my symptoms would still be so strong if the miscarriage was complete, I'm just a bit worried about infections and sepsis (I know that sounds a bit ott) I've had an ectopic previously and symptoms started easing and tests were at least getting lighter as time went on.

I had strong lines past 3 weeks (but I had retained product). The sickness could also be anxiety, adrenaline, lack of sleep.

Give it another week- although if nothing let’s up, like me you may have retained products.

If you do- do not D&C to remove it- use acupuncture instead. If you want more information about this, let me know.

Sorry you are in this boat xx

Update...it is retained tissue so having surgical management. Hopefully I'll be feeling back to normal soon.
